Delegate Client Portal requests between requesters
Reassign Matter, Contract, or Task requests temporarily
Ensure continuity in request ownership and handling
Configure delegation periods and applicable request statuses
Steps
The Client Portal Delegations feature allows organizations to reassign Matter, Contract, and Task requests from one requester to another alternative requester. This ensures continuous ownership, uninterrupted request handling, and improved workflow management during absences or temporary delegation periods.
1. Open Delegation Settings
Navigate to System Settings.
Scroll to the Client Portal section.
Open Delegation.
2. Create a New Delegation
Click Add New Delegation.
Select:
From User → the original requester
To User → the alternative requester who will receive the delegated requests
3. Define the Delegation Period
Specify:
Start Date
End Date
The delegation will remain active during the selected period.
4. Select Delegated Modules
Choose which types of requests should be delegated:
Contract Requests
Matter Requests
Task Requests
5. Configure Included Statuses
For each selected module, choose the request statuses that should be included in the delegation.
This allows you to control which requests are transferred to the alternative requester.
6. Select the Requests to Delegate
Proceed to the next step to select the specific requests.
Depending on the selected modules, you can choose:
Contract Requests
Matter Requests
Task Requests
Select the requests you want to delegate to the alternative requester.
7. Confirm the Delegation
Review and confirm your selection.
You can also choose whether the requests should:
Automatically revert back to the original requester once the delegation period ends
What Requesters Will See
Once the delegation is active:
Users will be notified about the delegated requests
The alternative requester will be able to view and manage the delegated requests directly from the Client Portal
