- Prepare the Word Template with variables
Generate a document using predefined Word templates with dynamic variables.
Steps
Step 1: Create Your Document Template
Prepare a Word document (.docx) that will serve as your template.
Use double percentage signs (%%) to define variables.
For example: %%ClientName%%, %%Date%%These variables will be automatically transformed into fillable fields during the generation process.
Step 2: Upload the Template to Lexzur
Navigate to the iDocs module from Lexzur’s main menu.
Create a new folder (e.g., "Document Generator").
Upload your prepared
.docxtemplate file into this folder.
Step 3: Set the Template Folder Path
Go to System Settings → Attachments section.
Locate the field: Document Generator Templates Folder.
Set the folder path to the one you just created in the iDocs module.
- Save.
Step 4: Generate a Document Using the Template
You can generate documents from:
The Attachments tab in any module (Matters, Contracts, Cases, etc.)
Or directly from the iDocs module.
Here’s how:
Click on the Generate Document icon (next to the Upload button).
Select the template you want to use.
A form will appear with all the variables defined in your template.
Fill in the required fields.
Click Generate.
The document will be instantly created and saved in your current folder.
