Objectives

  • Create Matters in IManage via integration
  • IManage Attchments tab in Lexzur 360 docs

Steps

This guide outlines the process for setting up an integration between Lexzur and iManage. The goal is to automate the creation of a Matter folder in iManage whenever a new matter or case is initiated in Lexzur.

Setting Up the Integration

Clients interested in this integration should contact our support team to enable the feature.

How It Works

iManage organizes matters into folders, including subfolders and files, forming a structured document management system. With the integration, a corresponding Matter folder in iManage is automatically generated upon the creation of a matter in Lexzur.

To create a new matter in Lexzur:

  • Click on Create to add a new matter.

  • Fill in the mandatory fields: Matter Name, Practice Area, and Arrival Date.

When creating a matter in Lexzur, consider the required fields in iManage to ensure proper mapping

Here is an example of iManage Matter creation page and how the fields will be mapped

  • Name: The Matter Name is consistent across both Lexzur and iManage.
  • Template: The Practice Area in Lexzur corresponds to the Template in iManage. Select the Practice Area that aligns with the desired iManage Template, such as Basic, Department Template, General Legal Matter, etc...

  • Owner: The Matter Creator in Lexzur, who is the logged-in user adding the matter, maps to the Owner in iManage.
Ensure that the user’s name in Lexzur matches their iManage account for accurate field mapping.

Other fields are optional, however all fields under the Properties Section in iManage can be created as custom fields in Lexzur.

For example let's add the Sent Date

  • In Lexzur, navigate to SettingsMatters→ Custom Fields

  • Add new custom field: indicate if its applicable on Matters or Cases, Select specific practice area, give it a name, and enable via integration as this will be mapped to one of the fields via iManage integration.

You can also link it to the main page or custom page like iManage page in the below example.

Learn more about customizing matter pages in this guide.

You can then fill out these fields while creating the matter in Lexzur

Once the matter is saved in Lexzur, it will be created in iManage with the chosen structure. Note that subsequent modifications to fields in Lexzur will not affect iManage and vice versa; only the initial values entered are synchronized.
