Lock Signature Until Approval

The Contra module now includes an option in the default settings: Lock Signature Until Approval (enabled by default).

  • When Enabled: The signature process cannot begin until the Approval Center has fully approved the document. Signees will be restricted from signing until all approvals are complete.
  • When Disabled: The signature and approval processes can function independently. Documents can move to the Awaiting Signature status and be signed even if approvals are pending.

This enhancement ensures the system can support both strict workflows, where signing requires prior approvals, and flexible workflows that allow signatures and approvals to proceed in parallel. The update applies to all workflows, with or without linked statuses.
