- Use different rate types in time entries
Steps
The default hourly rate used to calculate the effort of each user recording time entries within the system will be set in the Billing Module.
To do so, you must open the Billing Module from the navigation menu:
Go to Configuration→ Settings
Select Users Rate Per Hour under Money
A list of users will appear. You can click under Rate Per Hour at the level of each user and add the rate, then click on Save.
The user rate will be used as the default for recording time entries.
Additionally, admin users can choose between different types of rates when adding time entries:
- Invoice Date Rate: This rate is based on the rate applicable on the invoice date.
- Entry Date Rate: This rate is calculated using the system rate on the date the entry is made.
The rate value is determined by the following priority: Rate per matter, Rate per client, Rate per user, then Default entity rate.
- Fixed Rate: You can specify a fixed rate for this entry.
