  • User Rate Types

Objectives

  • Use different types of user rates (Default user rate, Matter rate, Fixed rate...)

Steps

User rates can be set and used in time entries based on various types.

Firstly, there is a default system rate that can be set for each user from the billing module settings.

To do so, you must go to Billing  Advanced  Settings.

Select Users Rate Per Hour under Money

Click under Rate Per Hour at the level of each user and add the rate.

This user rate will then be used as the default for recording time entries.

Additionally, you have the option to specify a different rate per matter, client, user, or group rate per hour. In this case, the rate set at the matter level or for each user on that matter will take priority.

From the Matter/Case page go to settings and add user rate , group rate, or matter rate as per your need.

Furthermore, admin users have the option to choose between different types of rates when adding time entries:

1. Invoice Date Rate: This rate is based on the rate applicable on the date of the invoice, the system will check and use the default rate on that date. It can be modified at the invoice level while importing time entries.

2. Entry Date Rate: This rate is calculated using the system rate on the date the entry is made. You can select the related entity to match the rate specified for the selected entity.

The priority for the rate value is as follows: rate per matter, case, or contract; if not specified, rate per client; rate per user; and default entity rate.

3. Fixed Rate: You can specify a fixed rate by entering the desired rate for each time entry.
