Objectives:
- Enable track changes by default for contracts created from template
- Lock Track Changes
Steps:
Contra users can enable track changes automatically in contracts created from templates, allowing all modifications to be tracked for review.
To enable it:
Go to System Settings → Setup & configuration
From the Contract & Documents Default Values tab, Enable "Track Changes in Generated Word Document in Contracts/Documents Templates". You have the option to enable it for Client Portal contracts or both core and Client Portal contracts.
Once applied, track changes will be enabled automatically by default for all contracts from templates. When you open a contract from the Draft and Collaborate section, you will notice that track changes are enabled by default and function as they do in a Word document. The document will be in the reviewing mode, you can accept or reject changes, change markup view, disable track changes and more..
Admins can further secure this feature by locking it with a password, preventing end-users from disabling change tracking and ensuring all edits are recorded.
From the Setup & Configuration Settings, once the Track changes is enabled, a lock option will appear, allowing you to enable the lock for track changes and set a password.
If locked, only users who can remove the protection and enter the password can unlock track changes.
The same applies if you open the document from the attachments using the Lexzur editor
