Objectives:
Link Party Details in Contract Templates
Steps:
This feature allows you to automatically populate party-related details (e.g., addresses, phone numbers, IDs, websites) in contracts, eliminating manual entry, enhancing accuracy, and streamlining the contract creation process.
Before you start, prepare the Word Document with Variables:
Ensure the Word document used in the template includes variables for the fields you want to populate (e.g., ${address}, ${phone}, etc.).
Open the Contract Template Settings: from Contracts & Documents drop down choose Manage Templates
- To create a new template, click Add New Template
- To edit an existing template, select and click the Edit icon on the desired template.
- In the Template Content page, locate the Party Variable (mapped to party fields).
- Enable the option "Add Additional Information about this Party": A table will appear reflecting the party information.
- Choose the fields you want to include, such as email address, city, website, nationality, etc..
- For each selected field, specify the variable name that matches the one in your Word document. Ensure the variable name is identical to avoid mismatches.
Populate Fields Automatically:
When creating a contract using this template, select the party name
The selected fields will automatically populate with values from your database (e.g., the Person or Company page).
