Objectives

  • Manually add time entries related to a corporate matter.
  • Record the time on matters using a timer.

Steps

Lexzur’s Time Tracking feature allows you to record time spent on corporate matters efficiently—either by manually entering time logs or using the built-in timer for automatic tracking. Logged time can be associated with specific clients and matters, and categorized as billable or non-billable.

Option 1: Manual Time Entry from a Matter

  • Open the relevant Corporate Matter from the Matters Grid

  • Navigate to the Time Entries tab.

  • Click the Actions button, then select “Time Entry.”

  • A form will appear with pre-filled fields:

    • Matter Name and Client Name are auto-filled based on the selected matter.

    • Date defaults to today’s date (editable).

    • Type is preset as “Matter.”

  • Enter the Duration (in hours), and optionally:

    • Mark as Non-Billable if applicable (Billable by default).

    • Assign a User and select either the System Rate or a Fixed Rate. (Only for Admin access)

    • Set the entry to Repeat Daily by enabling the Repeat checkbox and specifying the End Date. (Weekends and holidays will be excluded.)

  • Click Save to log the time.

Option 2: Add Time Entry from the Create Button

  • From anywhere in Lexzur, click the “Create” button.

  • Choose Time Entry from the dropdown.

  • Link the entry to the relevant Matter, then fill in the required details as above.

Option 3: Use the Built-in Timer

  • Click the Timer Icon from the Navigation Menu,  the timer will Start.

  • Let the timer run while you work.

  • When done, click again on the timer icon to Pause or End Timer.

  • Upon ending the timer: Specify the Entry Type, Related Matter Name, Related Client Name, Change the date if needed, Set the time entry Billable not non Billable by checking the box, and (optionally) add a description and specify the category.

  • After filling out the time entry form, you have three options:
    • Pause Entry: Pauses the timer and saves the time log for future management. It will remain in the paused time logs list for you to resume and complete later.
    • End Entry: Stops the timer and finalizes the log, adding it as a new time entry to the specified matter.
    • Delete: Removes the recorded time and discards the log permanently.
